The Cougs got a bad break by Boise having Jeanty who usually would have portalled to a blue blood. 12-0 could have been a reality if they didn't have him. This was kind of a golden year for the Coug though as they'll have to really fight to keep Mateer and any decent player on their roster next year and beyond.

A 2-10 WSU team that beat UW was/is famous and memorable to them. They'll tell you all about it, don't remember what year that was though.
 
Yeah but the difference also is a 12-0 Cuog is still probably a double digit seed in the playoff who gets easily bounced in the first round. Not handed a national title.
