Can't we go back to a simpler time when we could do songs about banging underage girls?![]()

Maybe they still haven’t found what they’re looking forI think my challenge with Thin Lizzy being a Top 10 favorite Yella band is that as much as a I love Jailbreak front to back (almost every song kicks on this record), I never got into their other stuff. I bought Jailbreak in 1997 at Tower Records on the Ave and loved it from the get go, but then I kinda stalled out from there.
I like the U2 as a "hack band" commentary. People that list U2 as their favorite band are suspect.
I like U2 but yeah having them be your favorite band seems odd and boring. It's fair that Thin Lizzy kind of lacks that same sound and hit ability in their other albums and a lot of them sound wildly different. I think Black Rose and Bad Reputation are the albums most like Jailbreak.Maybe they still haven’t found what they’re looking forI think my challenge with Thin Lizzy being a Top 10 favorite Yella band is that as much as a I love Jailbreak front to back (almost every song kicks on this record), I never got into their other stuff. U2 has always been a bit too trying too hard, anthematic with their formula for my taste.I like U2 but yeah having them be your favorite band seems odd and boring. U2 started strong then got way too political for me. Loved them in the 80's. After that, so much meh.
I did see their concert at Lumen Field about 10 years ago or so, and I will say it was really good. They do know how to put on a show. Side note: Lenny Kravitz (not Irish) as the warm-up was surprisingly strong.
If I'm listing favorite Irish musicians, I'd probably go Van Morrison, then Thin Lizzy. The list is pretty weak. And no Irish bands or musicians come close to a top 10 overall. Not even a sniff.
