“ When the news of Taggart’s firing hit social media, former Texas Longhorns star and current ESPN college football analyst Emannuel Acho didn’t hold back with his message to the former Florida State head coach. Because Taggart bolted from Oregon after just one season and left that program and those players out in the cold, Acho had no feelings of sympathy or pity for Taggart when Florida State decided to part ways with him.
“No tears from me on this one,” Acho tweeted on Sunday. “Taggart left his, “dream job”, and those kids at Oregon, high and dry less than a year after taking that job. Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.””
“Acho wasn’t the only ESPN analyst to throw some harsh words in the direction of Tallahassee over the weekend. On Saturday night, Kirk Herbstreit didn’t hold back when reacting to Florida State’s bad loss to Miami in Week 10. Herbstreit ripped the Seminoles for their lack of discipline against the Hurricanes.”
“I want to get this off my chest,” Herbstreit said. “I’m done with Florida State. I don’t want to talk about them anymore. I hate the way they represent themselves. Their current roster needs to go back and watch the Bobby Bowden Era. Because it wasn’t about talking trash and fighting. That’s all they do. They’re the most undisciplined team you’re gonna watch And they’re a terrible team. They need to focus more on execution and less on chirping. All they do is chirp.”
It’s been a tough week for Florida State, but at least they can start a new chapter in the program’s history now.
