There was no combat in afghanistan. There was no fighting. Now the Taliban is armed to the teeth and selling those weapons to terrorist organizations and countries.

Dude, you are better than this (maybe). I'm reading it like a balance sheet chart, which shows the ending balance in each period, which is also the beginning balance of the following period. Like how someone that reads and makes charts for a living would actually do it. 2008 with 30k means 30k at the end of 2008. That's what Obama inherited.
