this play is on coleman. you have to string that play out. and trust your blocking

Hilbers Coleman Shelton seriously whiffed on that. That was the pussiest-ass attempt at blocking I've ever seen. He just kind of stops in front of the defender and puts up his arms. The defender just jogs around him.

FTFY but you're right. Coleman picks up 4 yards on 3rd & 5 and if Shelton maintains that block, Coleman has to run through one guy for one more yard to pick up 1st down.

Pardon me for not being up on players' numbers, but isn't Shelton 79 & Hilbers 70? Or is my eyesight going to shit?

Center.

Okay, thanks to Grundle, I see it's Coleman Shelton.

That's piss-poor effort for someone with so much experience. FUCK!

Biggest takeaway here is that Myles Bryant is just not good. It's one thing for him to lack the speed and physicality that a guy like Budda had, but he does a poor job of recognizing plays in the flat, can't get off blocks very well, and takes poor angles. Losing Miller really sucks, because I think Joyner was a shoe-in to replace Myles in the slot, but now he's probably going to have to stay outside even when Murphy returns.

We don't even need to rewatch any of this to know how bad Lenius is. Fuck that guy. Cut his ass now, he doesn't even deserve to play out the rest of the season.

I think Boomer gets a bad rap around here. He's no Eldrenkamp, but talk of him sucking has really been overblown.

Tevis is emerging as a true threat. He's versatile, and he's going to be a key guy for us to lean on when Bierria and Victor are gone.

After this game the bored has a lot of hate in their lives.

Boomer's not to blame here. Lavon cuts it inside when there's plenty of room for him to bounce outside.

Disagree. If Boomer is holding his block and not getting pushed backwards, Shelton doesn't get pushed backwards while pulling and Coleman is more comfortable following Shelton's block.

I still think Coleman could've taken it outside but he saw the defense pushing into the backfield and made the cut.

Felt like dredging up this thread after it was mentioned at the end of yesterday's podcast.

Talk about an incredibly shitastic game - ineptitude all around. Incredibly, this game didn't kill my inner doog and it should have. Took until 2019 for me to finally break and walk away from this train wreck.

Really the first crack in the Petersen armor after leveling up in 2016. This game is just such a disaster and seemed like a chain reaction thing.

-The first loss of the Petersen era against a team they had no business losing to
-The start of the cataclysmic offensive meltdowns against non-elite defenses
-Another drop in the bucket of teams seeing Browning's limitations
-Opponents can see how well putting big DTs right over Nick Harris kills the offense (Oregon feasts on this in 2018/19)
-Trey Adams gets hurt in non-contact goes from (possibly overblown, but still) Top 5 pick in mocks and AA) and ends up basically losing his career
-Rapp breaks Jordan Miller's leg on meaningless tackle after Rube Goldberg final lucky play to win game and Stanford and Penn State kills UW with big receivers on jump balls Miller would have matched up well with
-Loss later results in UW losing the North and a shot at conference title, though I think they would have lost to USC anyways.
