Probably missing a lot of @"Laocoön" 's favorite emo/goth fag tracks. But oh well, it's pretty close.

Enjoy The Silence - Depeche Mode should be on here, but ran out of room.

Define 'rock'.

Throwing in bands like Depeche Mode and a HA - those aren't 'rock' bands.

The whole of the Britis invasion in the 80's was synth based. Eurythmics, Pet Shop Boys, Flock of Seagulls, et. al. All way better synth that the options provided.

I'm lazy @PurpleThrobber and didn't feel like doing a separate pole for the Synth Pop (a subgenre of new wave which is a subgenre of rock). Depeche Mode and A Ha all fit in that bucket with the artists you reference.https://www.allmusic.com/style/synth-pop-ma0000002887

DM @Fire_Marshall_Bill if you need more specific new wave / synth pop poles. I'm just trying to touch some highlights here.

Chinvalid pole without F.O. Row Peter Puffer, you left off option

Winnar and I'll fight anyone who disagrees

Sometimes I like to leave off the FO row Peter puffier option to elicit more hate mail.

New wave was the soundtrack to my early HS years. That song will be forever stuck in my head.

Plus they used it to introduce White Wakonda, Colorado in that South Park episode. Who could forget the images of upscale homeless snorting cocaine? Perfect song choice.

First song that pops in my head is Gary Numan - Cars.

Axel F(oley) - Harold Faltermeyer
Situation -or- Don't Go - Yazoo
Blue Monday - New Order

Decent amount Erasure and Pet Shop Boys options.

Yeah, lots of options.

Also Depeche Mode Violator album was released in 90.

I'm sure @"Laocoön" can go much more in depth than I can.

The Cars - Drive
Head like a Hole - Nine Inch Nails

Cars always make me laff hard.

Good list but no Gary Glitter who may have been first

The pedophile thing may have hurt him

Rock and Roll Part 2 was from 1972.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_Roll_(Gary_Glitter_song)

No synth on that track. Just heavy on affects guitar.

The thread morphed to arena rock

The Final Countdown has been played in 4th quarter at every NBA arena for 40 years.

I probably should have included Sirius by the Alan Parson Project for da' Bulls fans.

Vanilla needs to give us more than 10 spots on a poll, so we can keep you salty fags happy.
