Well that's true. I think of jar of flies as a full length, standalone album but not so much Sap. I think JOF came after dirt too, so my whole statement was nonsense in retrospect.

That’s the thing though - they weren’t very original or unique. Many artists were doing the country rock thing before the Eagles debut album in 1972. Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers, Dylan, Gram Parsons, New Riders of the Purple Sage all came before and did it better.
