Greatest Scenes in Cinema History

Lot of great ones in Quiz Show. Smoking hot Mira Sorvino questioning Northern Exposure guy's manhood is great. But this scene:

From the early Brad Pitt oeuvre bracket, A River Runs Through it. These two scenes coupled together, lands hard.

Dark horse, this fight scene from Upgrade

Swimming pool from It Follows

Wedding Crashers dinner

Good call on River Runs Through It. Most of us don't like to admit, but that movie will speak to everyone on some level as it relates to family. Pitt was very good in that movie. Everybody was. One of Redford's best.

Absolutely. It's a beautiful movie.

Big one we’re missing:

Family-friendly division, have to give credit to Pixar’s brilliance with the opening scene from Up. No dialogue, no real actors, but one of the few movie scenes that ever made me cry:

This is the single greatest scene in movie history. There will be no argument about it. Period.

And if you can't recite it from memory, we can't be friends.

Nice knowing you, Throbber. I didn't see Caddyshack until much later and just don't enjoy it at level as most everyone else. No judgement, you be you.

[referring to Lee Harvey Oswald and mass murderer Charles Whitman]

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Do any of you people know where these individuals learned how to shoot?... Private Joker.

Private Joker: Sir. In the Marines, Sir.

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: In the Marines. Outstanding. Those individuals showed what one motivated Marine and his rifle can do. And before you ladies leave my Island, you will all be able to do the same thing.

silence of the lambs -

Anthony Hopkins when he chatters his teeth after mentioning eating his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti and being wheeled out of the airplane and he says to the Senator "toughened your nipples, didn't it?"

Hopkins was great in that movie.

Casablanca - In Rick’s cafe when Germans sing and the French respond by overwhelming with La Marseillaise

Goodfellas - one long camera scene of walking into the Copacabana club through the kitchen out to the table.

City of God - opening scene chasing the chicken through the favela leading to Rocket in between Lil Ze’s Gang and the police.

Heat - Bank robbery scene already mentioned.

I will probably do a Greatest movie of all time tournament. PM me if you want to be on the seeding committee.

The Waterboy and original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory better be in there.
