Greatest Scenes in Cinema History

New Fish
A Bronx Tale is on TV today, so I came up with a great faggy thread idea. Maybe we can work a pole ( ;) ) in there someday if we get enough nominations.

“Look at me. I’m the one who did this to you. Remember me.”

Final trench charge in Galipoli, despite the melodrama.

Opening scene of Inglorious Basterds.

Opening long take of Boogie Nights.

First meeting with Hannibal Lecter, and the basement final scene from Silence of Lambs.

Although the movie never grabbed me, Dunkirk has several amazing scenes from cinematography standpoint.

Children of Men has two amazing long takes.

Opening wedding setup from Godfather, but could include whole damn thing. B-side, taking Sonny to the undertaker.

Shallow performance from Star is Born. Fuck off, it’s brilliant.

Last 20 minutes or so of Children of Men[/i]. Nothing touches that.

Bank robbery from Heat[/i].

Scene in Legends of the Fall[/i] where Brad Pitt's character rides toward the cliff by his brother's grave and pulls up at the last second.

Aside from being the greatest movie ever, The Big Lebowski[/i] actually has some amazing cinematography. Too many scenes to name.

Ditto with Amelie[/i]. Tons of amazing camera moves, and there isn't a movie with better attention to color.

Pretty much all of Days of Thunder[/i]. I mean, come on.

+ two scenes where Munny hears Ned’s been killed then goes to saloon in Unforgiven.

I will probably do a Greatest movie of all time tournament. PM me if you want to be on the seeding committee.

Children of men inside the car POV with the motorcycles firing at them is amazing.

The ending of The proposition (entire movie actually)

Not a movie, but the 1-take scene from True Detective with undercover coked out micconoughey extracting the white supremacist biker through the hood BLEW MY MIND.

I'm a film geek so I could keep going, throw me on the committee @YellowSnow

This. Stunning. Over fences & shit.

If you’re a movie geek, you probably have seen, but there’s a making-of on YouTube for the Children of Men car long take.

Lot of great ones in Quiz Show. Smoking hot Mira Sorvino questioning Northern Exposure guy's manhood is great. But this scene:

From the early Brad Pitt oeuvre bracket, A River Runs Through it. These two scenes coupled together, lands hard.

Dark horse, this fight scene from Upgrade

Swimming pool from It Follows

Wedding Crashers dinner

Good call on River Runs Through It. Most of us don't like to admit, but that movie will speak to everyone on some level as it relates to family. Pitt was very good in that movie. Everybody was. One of Redford's best.
