Can't remember if I connected the dots or I saw it on Twitter or something, but I know Prince is a huge fan of Joni Mitchell's A Case of You and I think he bit the melody and rhythm from that song to create Purple Rain, which is an amazing canvas for soloing.
Best Thin Lizzy solos are either Waiting for an Alibi or the second Cowboy Song one.
