Great Article on Gary Patterson and the 4-2-5 Defense

I think this was posted elsewhere but I do not recall where today: https://grantland.com/features/hard-knocks-playing-defense-with-tcus-gary-patterson/

Yes, this is an article about #MyFrogs, but that aside, Patterson has been one of the best defensive minds in the game in the last 10-15 years. I honestly believe that a lot of what he does defensively is ground breaking and stuff against the spread. I would LOVE to see TCU play Oregon at some point in the future.

I would have posted this article if it wasn't TCU related ... it's a great article on defense and how it is designed to stop spread offenses based on simplifying reads for his defenders and creating opportunities for turnovers.

On average, over the past 3 years, points allowed ranking......

TCU - 33
UW - 38

And UW has, by all accounts, sucked balls. Perhaps you might consider ceasing your TCU ball sucking.

You had a preview last year.

The final score was 61-58 ... Frogs ended up roadkill after giving up 61 in the fourth quarter because they were gassed.

Oregon > Baylor

So there's that data point.

If TCU had been the 4th team in the playoffs last year they would have finished 5th

You should re-read the article then because Baylor is talked about in detail and Oregon is not Baylor ...

Patterson forces teams to beat him deep as that is low percentage. Every once in a while that works out for the opposition. Baylor actively tries that strategy against TCU

I read it last night while lying on the our (= my two dads') futon in the basement and was going to poast it but our resident Froog beat me to it.

Saying that TCU's D sucks or isn't good because they gave up a ton points to Baylor is FS...sometimes great offenses have your number on a particular Saturday, execute better, and / or make less mistakes.

The article is really good and the guy who wrote is my favorite Grantland guy.

Whether it's 4-2-5, 3-3-5, or a hybrid 3-4, I love seeing defenses trying to tilt some of the balance back to the D.

I personally would love for the next Lambo to step up and find out how to shut these shit show offenses down.

My poont was Tequilla wants Oregon ... handle Baylor first.

Someone must be knew here

Even tequila didn't want to take the gloves off and roll on that bait

It's such a FS comment that I don't need to take the gloves off and roll ... my froooog minions have taken care of it for me
