I believe that if you are already involved in said litigation that i would hope any president would avoid you until after it is complete...there are plenty of other candidates out there... but yes the Democratic smear tactics after the fact are pure crap.

My party, whatever that is, has nothing to do with this. This is your party rejecting Trump's whack ass nominees and standing up to some twisted shit. You have the votes, yet the center-right GOP is rolling their eyes and rejecting it, for good reason. Party is not everything, believe it or not. But something something about Democrats not deporting enough rapists and murderers and not putting enough criminals in jails. You must be bored.

Of course democrats are going to be united in voting against many of these nominees. That's because many of these nominees are completely unqualified for their positions. And that's before anything re: ethical considerations and background. I suspect Hegseth, Gabbard, Noem, and RFK will get zero Democrat votes if they even make it to the vote. Why would they get votes? These are unqualified, shithouse wackjob political reality show toadie nominations, not real ones. If you get the 53 GOP senators to give ya 50 with these folk, so be it. Let's rock n roll. I'll believe it when I see it.

Rubio might get 100/100.
 
No... just choose people for those positions not under investigation... that's what a proper vetting team does.... there are plenty of others who could do the job, so why would Trump waste his time and others for a pick he knew would die on the vine?

Senate confirmation hearings are not the place to be clearing your name... do it beforehand. And if that isn't enough time, so be it. The AG needs to be out there like Homan saying what they are going to do when they get it.... not hiding from the press because they are scandal ridden.

You're completely right in this thread. No reason to make concessions or justifications. It's okay to say he should fuck off. It seems like you want to. There's a great reason that he resigned his Congress seat and withdrew his AG nomination.
He will have a top 10 podcast within a year and make more money than he ever has. Poor Matt.

If he can clear his name and yes that includes the ethics investigation, I have no issue if he works in the administration in some capacity... I just think the AG is too important to wait on... we need change now.

If Gaetz is innocent of the thousands of the scuzzbag, sex predator, and criminal allegations and rumors that surround him, his life, and his time in congress, and he's not actually despised by every person in Congress, and the shock at his nomination from all sides wasn't true, and he skated ethics investigations for a wholesome reason, and he's actually an innocent peach and one hell of a model American, sure, give him an admin job. He'd make a great pool boy or bartender.
