He didn't last year, that was the genius Prince we saw in August. The Boysee State people are thrilled that he was not retained by Harsin.
 
I like Smith. I used to have some connections to the University of Montana football program, and everyone raved about Smith when he was OC there.
 
Doogs are pissed that Petersen " let the bowl winning coach get away". "Not a great start" is what I'm hearing.
 
I think I may be in the minority, but I think Smith is going to do a great job. He's been a QB coach for 10 years, been a successful OC at the FCS level and was one of those guys that had success as a player without being over-talented. Those guys usually are pretty football savvy and that works well as a coach.

Petersen has had success identifying young OC's (Pease, Hasin) and given them their big break and its worked out for him.

Or he might suck.

This is why ultimately I'm happy with the hire. Anytime it makes Doogs angry it is always a good thing.
