You're avoiding the point--no surprise. You got a college degree for a few hundred bucks a year. It put you in a position to earn more, and that education was heavily subsidized by those who earned less.

Our generation also benefitted from coming of age in a high growth era in which inherited wealth was not as significant to material success as it had been throughout most of the industrial age. At present, inherited wealth is moving back in the direction of greater significance, the position it has typically held.

And none of this is to say you didn't work hard.

I lived on the river there when that Burgerville was first opened. It was great. That house is easily worth $3-5 million now; that area and Dunthorpe is hardly slumming it.

What, a couple miles down 43? That entire stretch of river front property is extremely expensive. Below the old Marylhurst, on River Road there are several properties with land which are easily in that range. Our house had an 80 foot dock where the river is 100 feet deep. Sea planes and Yachts docked there routinely, 5000+ sqft with a creek running through it. You have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

East of Burgerville is the Willamette River and River Road. Very expensive.

But according to "He's Never Right" JW, the river front property from LO to WL is full of dumps. He has no fucking clue because he has no wealthy friends and he's never been invited into any of these multi-million dollar homes. I loved that BV by the way! My parents should have never sold the home. The owner of the largest yacht company in the Portland/Vancouver area bought it from them. Should have just given it to me;-)
