Do you want this site to be legit and eventually end up like doogman because once you start giving into the "this place is rancid" crowd you can never stop. We? could have nice things like teen boy experts who answer your questions. Or just keep rolling along until the world at large becomes as rancid as we? are?
 
Our brand of #filth is skrong. Fewer calls for death is probably a good thing. But if we(?) decide to place a premium on being taking seriously, I'm probably out.
 
And for the record, I wish nothing but the best for BDTWv2 cuz I'm Nebraska classy like that. But I think that's more in the dawhman space. You can't try for the mainstream and have the hijinx we do at the same tim, just can't.

Honestly go fuck yourself there is no better place than to be here because I tell you what those guys at dawgman probably talk like we do in real like amongst friends maybe not all but most but they don’t have the ballz to post on boards like so. This is a place kinda like the Wild West meets the Roman Empire. This is a boards of passionate fans who want to have fun, have a laugh, share info and see a team win! So many inside jokes for ever and I feel like this place is gaining momentum as well as people are strolling through here and seeing they actually want to be apart of this place. I stumbled along this site 2 years ago trying to find a place I could read up on crootin with out paying and i don’t know why I clicked on a tsio podcast or how I found it but when I started listening to it and laughing my ass off while getting the info I wanted this place quickly became some sort of a home for me.

My vote is somewhere in between.

I've wrestled with this. A lot. This place is funny, is an oasis in a desert of political correctness, and there are plenty here who are willing to have a Twitter account so that I don't have to (TYFYS). That being said, at some point you pass "not politically correct" and become 4-Chan or SomethingAwful. It's difficult--and personal--to draw the line, but a lot of this place is way over it, in my opinion. I read this board (hourly--see also: crack) alternatingly laughing my ass off and cringing.

So how do you maintain the spirit of HH while making it less of the internet's shit stain? I think a good start would be to just nuke the Tug from orbit and tell any poster venturing into Tug territory to fuck off (no warning, just gone). I also think policing actual overt racism would be nice, but, hey, that's just me.

@sonics1993 is the new messiah. The new messiah flat fucking told you all that this site actively hurts recruiting and UW's public image. I've been fuck-offed more than a few times in my short history here for pointing out the hypocrisy of demanding recruiting excellence while also doing so on a platform that is a figurative own-foot-shot to UW's recruiting efforts.

I don't think the tug is the issue, its when the tug comes to this board

There was a lot of stuff that made people uncomfortable when the Savell shit broke and the whole OKG drama and Pete is a racist

At the tug you know what you're getting. I don't think people liked it here

Speaking for me I didn't freak out at that whole thing because its good to clear the air

I can respect honest opinions of guys like @NorwegianHusky and @LaMichael_Corleone and agree with some and disagree with others.

This board should have more mutual respect but it has to be done by the posters not by a heavy hand IMO

People are generally uncomfortable talking about race and even more so in our super heated country today. They need to toughen up

Been rehashed many tims. I don't recall the details anymore. Basically, Chest wanted to take his pod mainstream, which was cool by me, not that my opinion matters. And to do so, he had to sever ties with HCH. Again, cool, do your thing. But then he made a post on the way out which basically said this site was shit and we're all fags and Derek was going to fail as the team got more successful. That's probably twisted but it's how I remember it. To me it was unnecessary. Just leave.
 
I would say put the recruiting board behind the paywall. Win win. More money for the site and keep the random parent peak from being easily accessible.

It started a long time before that with the whole "fast strategy/slow strategy" thing. Whether you think it has merit or not, it's probably best not to be classifying the recruits into categories by what type of black person they are, and furthermore making the claim that our program is only interested in a certain classification.

You can think that way but posting about it on an open forum that anyone can see, print out, andcsend to recruits is probably not in the best interest of the end goal.

It's not like Pete is reading a rant on here and thinking, "gosh, I better change my approach. Maybe this is something I overlooked." It is, however, extremely likely that an opposing coach is showing that shit to a recruit and saying "look, even their own fans think the coach has a problem with kids like you."

Quite honestly, Mitch, I found Dennis' pod discussions of Fast/Slow Strategy thought provoking. I think there's something to be said for developing communications strategies to reach the audience (recruits) one needs to attract. I was going to read more on it, but too much like learning and work.

After a while on the recruiting board, Fast/Slow devolved into a brown paper bag test that was fucking nuts.

My view is similar to yours. There is plenty of stuff here that crosses the line for me personally, and thus I don't take part.

When I first lurked here, it appeared like the outrageous opinions were fairly mainstream, but over time I have come to believe that most poasters (in particular the ones I respect) aren't the ones saying the outrageous shit on a regular basis.

I'd prefer to keep all of the the irreverence with a little less shitpoasting and none of the racist shit, but it's not my board. I'm happy to keep downvoting the dumb stuff in the meantime.
