Lol I tried explaining this exact thing to my friends who all nominated me for it even though I said I won't be doing it. I got told it was for a good cause it was morally wrong to not participate in something so simple. Then someone said I had to donate $100 if I didn't do it (in almost a threatening way).

It really really really bugs them that I won't be a narcissist and prove it by posting a video on social media. A co worker of mine actually donated a decent chunk of change but told me he is still getting drilled by people for not participating.... apparently video taping yourself dumping a bucket of ice water over your head actually means more than donating money itself.

This is just the beginning to this shit too. A lot of charities will figure out their own faggy act to record here soon. The best part is the people who did the challenge won't actually follow up to see if their imaginary donation actually did anything to help ALS, because they don't care, they got their 10 seconds of fame and 40 likes on Facebook... mission accomplshed.

I've actually heard people say/post that if we all donated enough they would be able to cure ALS. Jesus. I hate people.

Of course when I mention I prefer to donate to other charities that I have a connection with and don't want to participate, I'm the asshole. If I took the money I was going to donate to humane society (which is one of the charities I help) and donate it to ALS, they would be happy with that, even thigh the Humane society gets less. With charity money I don't practice abundance. I pick and choose.

You should nominate 3 of your friends to donate to the Human Society by bobbing for an apple in a toilet (you have the access with your job) someone just took a piss in. It would be great, you could even video tape yourself and show it to all of your friends.

Paying it forward in the fucking Starbucks line. (Yeah ... fuck you ... I love Starbucks)

The other day someone "paid my coffee forward", I thanked the employee and started to drive off. She then said, aren't you going to pay it forward.

I said ... no ... what's the point of the person's good deed in front of me if I then in turn have to pay for the guy behind me under pressure. I will accept this good deed ... and pay it forward in the future. She looked at me like I'm an asshole, which I am, so I drove off.

For the record, I have paid it forward and continue to do so ... usually when in a Starbucks and the chic behind me has big tits or a tight ass.

"paying it forward" at Starbucks isn't a good deed. A good deed is helping someone get a necessity they can't get otherwise. Buying some asshole a $5 coffee their fat ass doesn't need and who was fully prepared to buy it on their own anyway isn't praise worthy.

Has anyone else found it comical that in a country bemoaned for waste, we're dumping one of the most precious assets in the world over our heads all in an effort to keep from donating a few bucks and to show the world how much you "support" a cause? How about we count up how much water has been wasted over the last 30 days and discuss what could have happened with everyone donating $5 and sending water tanks overseas. Dear lord our society is so fucking backwards and people continue to miss the point.

I truly wonder if people who do the challenge feel good about themselves, and furthermore if they were provided a test immediately after their ALS challenge if they could answer the simplistic and basic questions about what ALS is, where they are in treatment, the effect of the disease, mortality rate, etc. I would wager 75% of the people doing the challenge have no clue what it is and how it effect the body. I've had multiple people mention it's for alzheimers......Wonder how many people have gone to alz.org and donated to the wrong cause.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is FS and jumped the shark two weeks ago. The ones who drum up fake outrage over the waste of water are just as fucking stupid. You cunts don't get mad at your neighbor for watering their lawn or at women for taking 30 minute showers.
