It's the award Stanford used to always win and in which the Tree took/takes great pride.
It's the trophy for what we call around here Olympic sports excellence, except football and BB count, too.
High academis schools tend to love this award because they often get the kids from wealthy backgrounds who are good at fringe, high-barrier-to-entry, sports like fencing, figure skating, and tennis.

Squash is another good one. There are no 6'3" guys with a 20 ft vert and 3.7 40 speed on the squash courts ese. There just aren't!
