Turkey at least has geographical importance. The issue with NATO is that why do we need countries like Portugal in there? They offer no useful utility, no one is going to attack them and then get too much power on this kind of shit. If we think it’s important to protect them, then let’s sign bilateral treaties directly with them and be able to dictate the terms.
