She thought the film was "really good" but not fantastic as I had claimed.
She acknowledged that IU did a remarkable job of acting.
Her main problem with the film was the ambiguity at the end. She felt like the writer/director couldn't figure out how to finish it so he tried to be all things. I pretty much agree with that. Though it did get a 12-minute standing ovation at Cannes when it was over.
I felt like the film has a subtle pro-life message to it. **** felt "there was nothing subtle about it. It was definitely a pro-life film."
For anybody that might watch it, the first 15 minutes are a bit slow as the chess pieces get placed on the board, so to speak. Then the plot begins to move.
This is an understated film and really well-acted.
