So the old lady and I had a discussion about this last night. “Discussion”

She insisted that Tusk helped put the Pac 10 on the map and that everyone knows Tusk and the USC band because of it.

I was like umm no, the USC band is known for Salute to Troy, not Tusk, and beating the shit out of the Big 10 in the Rose Bowl the majority of the time from 1960 to 1992 had the Pac 10 on the map.

Do people actually think of Tusk as like an all time song and associate it with USC? I mean, it’s kinda cool, but, no.

Tribute to Troy is the greatest college marching band song of all time. That’s what they’re famous for.

But Tusk a cool song and I love me some coked up Stevie Nicks as baton twirling girl.
 
My dad has a USC license plate frame, USC hat, USC underwear, and he didn't attend the school. He's a big time USC bandwagon homer (grew up in LA), so I've been watching their games since before I could remember.

I've never seen, heard, or heard of Tusk.

As a lifelong UW fan I have respected the hell out of Trojanville since I was a wee lad.

Was introduced to Tusk in this thread.

Our tix were near the visiting band for a couple of years (we pour), and my wife (and her entire family) have a life-long hatred of all things SC (they do not think Cal is ever too HIGH, however)...SC was the only game I didn't mind sitting there, because that is one of a handful of songs (along with Hail to the Victors, Eyes of Texas, a few others) that mean REAL College Football is being played...Tequila used to be like that for me...RIP

...and, Tusk rocks for me.

This is 1979, but still. Tusk was as coked up as Fleetwood Mac got and a harbinger of things to come in the 80s.

I always thought Christy McVie was better than Nicks, but have to agree her twirling that damn baton looked good

This Tusk music video sent me down a rabbit hole to figure out who Fleetwood Mac is. I mean, I could have told you that they're an oldies band that my dad probably listened to, but that's about it. So I asked the Google what their top hits were and started listening. "Oh this[/i] song! And this[/i] one!"

Turns out I know of and like a lot of their stuff, I just didn't know who they were.
