Fiesta Bowl with Oregon and purple-clad KSU

My mother and father were Cal grads, and while they were rabid Dawg fans since moving to Seattle just in time to take me to my first UW seasons in 1960 and 61 and Dad became a Tyee, they always taught me to root for the PAC-8/10/12 in non-conference games. Dad would do his best in the old days to root for USC against Notre Dame every year and for the PAC team in the Rose Bowl, etc. He went to the Dawg bowl games in 84 and 91, and was crazy there, but always rooted for the PAC.

Flash forward to Jan 3, 2013. Oregon is playing Kansas State, and KSU wears a lovely purple.

Can I really rooted against a purple-clad team playing Oregon?

I must admit having mixed feelings.

The PAC-12 is 3-4 in bowl games, and we need this high profile win for national profile.

But my heart is not in it.... :(

No! Never! I just posted this on the DM forum, because that fucking idiot Purpledawgfag said "you have to support the conference". True Dawg fans NEVER support the Quacks....NEVER!!!!

Exactly. What do we get out of supporting the conference? More recruits lost to Oregon, USC, UCLA etc... Fuck that. I hope their bus crashes into a lake on the way to the game.

 
I don't root for anyone in conference. What do we get when they win? Can you spend "conference reputation"? I don't think so. Gotta recruit against em- I hope they all lose, then DIAF.
 
I like to root against the Pac-12 in basketball too.

That way when we win the Pac-12 regular season title we are seen as clearly the best of them all and the NCAA gives us an at-large bid

Purplefagdawg had a post that was even worse than krishvashon. He tried to claim that Sark helped build USC and had proved more than Mora. It was mind boggling fageotry.
 
The rest of the conference voted us into probation, don't forget. To hell with all of them. Except UCLA. I kind of like them now.

Agree, but to hell with UCLA as well. Don't be blinded, never forget that they were part of the PAC 9.
