Tariffs protects an importing countries industries by making imported goods less appealing.

If you’re saying prices are not going to go up because importers are gonna absorb the tariffs, then the exporters are gonna laugh their ass off and you haven’t punished anything.

If you’re trying to lower the trade deficit and have Americans consume more American made goods and tariffs are making imports less competitive, then prices of those goods HAS to go up!

Why is this hard for some of you dunderheads to understand? There’s literally no way around it. One of those two things have to give

Sure, you can balance out the trade deficit…it comes at a price. There’s no such thing as you get to buy goods at lower prices while exporters get tariffed. Y’all dumb if you can’t figure it out.

You’re arguing that mass importation from slave-wage countries leads to a healthy economic base. That’s foolish.
You’re some low-level guy at Amazon. You know nothing. I deal with exporting US made goods every day. Getting requests from China and South America now in oil and gas and hiring additional plant workers almost every week.
