Steve Zissou is my hero. Tenenbaums was fucking great. I read where Wes tried to convince Gene Wilder return from retirement to play Royal which is mind boggling to imagine. I wouldn't replace Gene Hackman with anyone tho, he gave Royal a real edge.

The casts are incredible which is why his animated stuff is always a slight let down for me. Willem fucking kills me in Zissou. Jason Swartzman impressed the hell out of me in Rushmore, hadn't seen him before. Goes without saying, Bill Murray cements his place as a National Treasure in Wes Andersons World.

Moonrise, Darjeeling, Bottle Rocket and Budapest were all really fun. First time I'd seen a Ralph Fiennes movie I liked, he was great.

I tried Isle of Dogs twice and was bored as hell within 15 mins. I'll wait a year, gain some fucking perspective, and probably love it after several more encunters. I liked Fantastic Fox after year 4 when Clooney got all his guys in. Reads dialed

This may sound crazy but I think Herman Blume was Bill Murray's second greatest role ever after Caddyshack
