I actually haven’t watched this yet (it’s in the queue), but I have a feeling I’m going to be rooting for the anti-hero.

I'm dooging out on it at the moment. Watched the first few episodes a couple years ago, but just binged the first two seasons this weekend. Some great lines. I think @RaceBannon might be a writer on the show. Some very race-esque lines. Mostly along the lines of winners win.

I loved the first two movies (Hilary Swank and Will Smith’s kid can fuck off). Still, was skeptical when my brother told me about it a few years ago. Having finally watched the previews I’ve let go of my reservations.

Season one was turbo awesome. Season two suuuuuucked until it didn't (which wasn't until pretty late). I find that whenever the show focuses on the adults--mostly Johnny Lawrence--it's great. I have no patience for the teen angst drama, though, unless they're Kung-Fu fighting.

It sucked until the Cobra Kai reunion scene then was pretty good until the part where you wanted the Cobra Kai Youth to wipe the floor with the Miyagi squad for popping off and they didn't.

I'm hopeful that season 3 is better.

The shark-jumping moment for me was the stupid handstand kick. As soon as I saw Daniel falling from a handstand and explaining it, I immediately rolled my eyes, knowing it was going to come back in a lame way.

Johnny's internet dating was great. #hashbrown it was great. John Crease coming back was shark-jumpingly shitty.

I would have rather they added a few more episodes to the first season fleshing out Johnny's internet love life, covering the Miguel's mom hookup angle, etc., and left it at one season. Hopefully season 3 brings it back to full-time awesome.

Watching the first episode now since Mrs.Snow Netflix-cheated on me with her husband (“wait until he heads off to Ranch Records, that will buy us an hour or two” WHATEVER!).

I dig it. I always thought the idea of Daniel being the bad guy was interesting.

We binged it this weekend and watched both seasons in 3 days. Cheesy? Yes, to some extent, but so much awesome with Johnny’s character.

I love the fact that there are times that you’re rooting for one side, then you’re rooting for the other side 30 minutes later. It makes it interesting.

Agree with the comment from 1to39 that it’s more enjoyable when they focus on the adults vs. the teen drama, but we thoroughly enjoyed it overall.

Ts and Ps to @Swaye in this difficult time.

This.

When the show focuses on the dynamic between LaRusso and Lawrence it's awesome. Adding John Kreese was great.

Season one should have been stretched out to two seasons. I think they progressed Johnny's dojo a little too quickly.

I love how LaRusso looks like a tool, because he is.

They went way too long into this teen love triangle. Hopefully Johnny's kid goes back to being a shithead after the developments of season 2. His son as a shithead was much better television.

Amanda LaRusso needs to wear some skimpier clothes sometimes.

Other than that, the show kicks ass. It kind of had an Eastbound and Down theme too it in season one, I'm hoping it can go back to that, then progress to a grittier Breaking Bad kind of feel. This show will lose itself if it focuses too much on the teenage love drama.

Yes! As a kid I cheered for Daniel-San and Mr. Miyagi. But as an adult I definitely sympathized more with Johnny and Cobra Kai (remember, I haven’t seen Season 2 yet, it will be interesting to see if my feelings change as I continue to watch). I don’t know what that says about me, but for some reason the themes of striving to be better despite your personal shortcomings or sad backstory really resonated with me. That and toughening up. It was fascinating seeing how Cobra Kai’s philosophy could be both empowering and harmful for those kids.
