If you aren't ecstatic about every recruit that UW gets, regardless of their ability, then you are just a pessimist who wants to bring everybody else down
 
I don't care if they come from Mars as long as we get the best players. Who cares if they come form in state? The football landscape has changed.
 
I only want guys who BLEED Purple and Gold......and white and black.

Well Fetters, if you're going to scarf down a dozen doughnuts in an afternoon again, don't put it on the company's tab.

Emtman wasn't a diamond-in-the-rough as proclaimed repeatedly by new age doogs eschewing Golden Age legend. The big guy was actually a solid gold bar safely deposited in a sodbuster bank until the James Gang swooped in and took him away to Montlake. Emtman at the time he committed to UW was considered a good prospect, but he committed early (for 1988) and didn't attract much interest after emphatically announcing that he only wanted to be a Husky. Coming from Cheney, Steve was at the time assumed to be a gimme for WSU. However as we found out, Emtman wasn't some dumb sodbuster even if he did shoot carp with a shotgun.
