A G5 coach has no idea what it takes to win at the Big10 level and doesn't have the wherewithal to rebuild a roster that gets decimated with a coach leaving leading to the existing roster getting diluted by the portal and losing the balance of a very highly regarded recruiting class … this coach spends the next 2-4 years trying to get their head above water and can't even approach a level that many of you are bitching about under Fisch
While that is going on you have an AD that is still looking for ANY job that isn't Washington … he's not committed here (arguably a bigger fundamental problem based on history) and will bolt before the implications of the G5 hire becomes a reality that he has to deal with
Fisch may not be here long-term (he isn't)
We can debate on whether he's performed to expectations based on what he took over (messy)
The talent that he's bringing into this roster is moving in the right direction … recruiting is approaching CP levels on the high-end
But everybody is fooling themselves if they think now is the time to start over … not only will we likely go back 2 years but we'd also likely be in a spot where it takes longer to get back to this point (recruiting will likely not be as strong)
The rub of all of this is that this likely isn't a situation that we can just throw money at the problem and solve

Cuog couldn’t let the door hit him in his ass fast enough. He was running off coaches left and right. His handling of the Rolo situation was straight up ass kissing.

If UW was worried about saving money (which I don't think they are), admin would have realized that it doesn't work in the medium run because of the pay coaches have been commanding recently. Fisch is getting paid about double what DeBoer was making so that line of thinking just doesn't hold water and I doubt Pat Chun (who went to Ohio State) thinks that way either.
Another thing to keep in mind is that UW is that much closer to a full revenue share allocation from the B1G than it was almost two years ago when UW hired Fisch.
Lastly, it's not UW Football that is the money problem within UW athletics. I read somewhere that women's basketball is responsible for $5 to $5.5 million of the $19 million deficit this financial year. You don't starve your biggest asset to cover losses due to a money losing sport.

Like him or not (I’m in-between but more positive than negative) Fisch isn’t going anywhere this year. Chun will struggle to find another job if he’s looking…no big program is going to hire an AD that led his program off a cliff at WSU and a UW AD considering the bad pub a couple of our previous ADs have garnered this year (Poolboy and the moron that extended Rhule).

Judds not leaving this year. I hope he builds the roster out, coaches through Williams senior year and takes an NFL OC job somewhere. The next coach would have a great shot at retaining the rebuilt roster like DeBoer did.
 
UW can do better than Mora. He's already 64 and I'd really like the next coach to be at least 7 to 10 years.

I think if Fisch leaves this season you give Mora a shot.
It might not work out, but if it did work out, you don't have to worry about 2 years then a roster nuke like we would have just experienced…twice.
Mora took a UCONN program without a conference or hope and made them a top 25 team.
If he is motivated he would do fine.
There have been plenty of old ass coaches that have made things work, most recently Cignetti.

I'll ask again. Why? What makes you think he likes Seattle and would retire there? Colorado is a pretty cool state maybe not the most desirable program but maybe he can get them competitive? Something about UW and Seattle doesn't seem to be attracting a lifer.

There isnt an AD on the planet keeping DeBoer. He was a done deal to Bama as soon as he beat Lanning at home
 
Extending/Raising Rhule or whatever they did at Nebraska was pure idiocy just like it would have been for Penn State to hire him. The box score for their game against one of the most confusing you'll ever see with how the final score turned out, but that's Iowa football. One of the most odd programs in America.

Chun's record is Rolovich who everyone knows deep down is a G6 killer and then Dickert who has Wake Forest at 8-3 in year fucking 1.
Getting scared about "starting over" is stupid at this point. Letting yourself get dragged like this over a .500 coach...

It's not about being scared of starting over, it's about wanting continuity heading into a year 3 season that is shaping up to be one that competes for the National Title in the playoffs.
Judd has been recruiting well, has shown he can get decent portal players, and will have a veteran roster going into year 3 in playoff or bust situation. I want to LIPO.
Can UW hire someone else who comes in and does better in year 1? Maybe, but I doubt it.
There are a shit ton of schools looking for coaches this off season and I think Mora would be the best option for UW.
And this is dumb because it's predicated on beating Oregon. If he doesn't and goes 8-4 he can fuck off. 9 wins was my floor before the season (documented) and I'll stick with it.

However this shit with Fisch isn't going to stop. I'm fine with it if his record wasn't what it is. The fact that this is even a thing at all before he's won anything just shows how pathetic this is.
Get a G6 killer, grow with him, and get him bought in. That is clearly the path, over getting an assistant imo.
