UW needs to not worry about saving money and start worrying about sustained success which brings in boatload more money
Chun is a Bookeye not a CuogWe have a fucking Coug as an AD
We have budget shortfalls in the AD
The #script is to pocket the buyout money (solves the budget issue) and pay low-end money for a G5 coach that is an "up and comer" while hoping that there is enough NIL support to cover any gaps with the G5 coach under the logic that it doesn't matter what connections that the coach has in recruiting … it matters more to have the money to spend to attract the talent/roster and if the coach is decent with X's and O's then all the better
Of you have this alternate reality …
A G5 coach has no idea what it takes to win at the Big10 level and doesn't have the wherewithal to rebuild a roster that gets decimated with a coach leaving leading to the existing roster getting diluted by the portal and losing the balance of a very highly regarded recruiting class … this coach spends the next 2-4 years trying to get their head above water and can't even approach a level that many of you are bitching about under Fisch
While that is going on you have an AD that is still looking for ANY job that isn't Washington … he's not committed here (arguably a bigger fundamental problem based on history) and will bolt before the implications of the G5 hire becomes a reality that he has to deal with
Fisch may not be here long-term (he isn't)
We can debate on whether he's performed to expectations based on what he took over (messy)
The talent that he's bringing into this roster is moving in the right direction … recruiting is approaching CP levels on the high-end
But everybody is fooling themselves if they think now is the time to start over … not only will we likely go back 2 years but we'd also likely be in a spot where it takes longer to get back to this point (recruiting will likely not be as strong)
The rub of all of this is that this likely isn't a situation that we can just throw money at the problem and solve
So good times
If UW was worried about saving money (which I don't think they are), admin would have realized that it doesn't work in the medium run because of the pay coaches have been commanding recently. Fisch is getting paid about double what DeBoer was making so that line of thinking just doesn't hold water and I doubt Pat Chun (who went to Ohio State) thinks that way either.UW needs to not worry about saving money and start worrying about sustained success which brings in boatload more money
Eck in Montlake by Monday.Jedd beats Oregon
leaves the next day
I’m good with it
I think he leaves for Wisconsin or B1G country. Id prefer Mora because he would retire here if it goes wellEck in Montlake by Monday.Jedd beats Oregon

I think if Fisch leaves this season you give Mora a shot.No Mora. The Mora talk is crazy. Fisch’s ceiling is way higher than Mora’s.
I'll ask again. Why? What makes you think he likes Seattle and would retire there? Colorado is a pretty cool state maybe not the most desirable program but maybe he can get them competitive? Something about UW and Seattle doesn't seem to be attracting a lifer.I think he leaves for Wisconsin or B1G country. There isnt an AD on the planet keeping DeBoer. He was a done deal to Bama as soon as he beat Lanning at homeI am not extending a coach that is trying, albeit failing miserably, to flirt with another school in Year 2. Chalk it up to Dannen fucking sucks and was in charge at the time and moveon.org
Didn't Chun hire Rolovich? Get a serial killer from the G6 level. Better than a coordinator and Rhule and Fisch are for retards.
Dannen chose a search firm that chose Fisch. Look at Nebraska right now. There isnt an AD on the planet keeping DeBoer. It's not about being scared of starting over, it's about wanting continuity heading into a year 3 season that is shaping up to be one that competes for the National Title in the playoffs.Dannen chose a search firm that chose Fisch. Chun's record is Rolovich who everyone knows deep down is a G6 killer and then Dickert who has Wake Forest at 8-3 in year fucking 1.
Getting scared about "starting over" is stupid at this point. Letting yourself get dragged like this over a .500 coach...
