The Hawks have a physical type at a lot of positions that they're pretty married to. RB is one of them. You will almost never see them with a RB less than 210 lbs or higher than 225 and most are going to be 215-220. They're almost all going to be 5'10"-5'11", maybe 6' too.

They do like 'em lighter and shiftier as third down backs, though. McKissic, Homer, Collins ... Gaskin could have filled that role well, imo.

what is that in real dollar savings? Like 60-65k? hmmmnn. If you don't have as many options then 60-65k definitely is a factor.
 
Smart move. Why risk going to a team that might put you in a game and get injured for life and cut when you can be the guy on the sideline making a million a year as a subset of fans beg for you to be put in.
