Calling someone Islamophobic isn't the slander you think it is. Watching Americans, who think they know things about Muslims, espouse viewpoints that have ZERO basis in actual reality is really quite charming. I have been to more Mid East countries than you have likely visited States. I have spent YEARS there over the decades. Until you have travelled widely in that region you do not understand that culture. I mean truly understand it. It is on balance violent, backward, racist, misogynistic and amplified through a warped prism of holy rage. The vast majority of the worlds Muslims (in North Africa and the Middle East - Asian Muslims are surprisingly forward thinking and reasonable I have found) have a corrupted view of their own religion (and to be fair our misadventures over many decades in that region have contributed to some of this) that is shocking in it's desire for holy conflict. Having some "Muslim friends or clients" in the US is a joke when trying to speak honestly about the global plague that fundamentalist Muslim culture inflicts on the world. Go live there, in multiple countries, for months on end. Anyone would see within weeks that their culture and appetite for violence is incompatible with Western culture and trying to force them together is explosive - like throughout Europe right now. Duh. Are there "good" Muslims? Of course there are. I have met and worked with hundreds of them. But, while the Proud Boys and Antifa are mostly fringe groups here, the fundamentalist nutjobs over there are actually the governing majority in over a dozen countries. Any argument to the contrary is wishful thinking, ignorance, lies for political reasons, or inexperience - or some combination of all of them.
The modern Democratic party is in a very strange bedfellow situation. Two traditionally supportive groups - Jews and LGBTQ+++, that are violently loathed by a majority of a culturally backward group prone to violence that the Dems have recently cozied up to. It's an odd combo to be sure.
Other than fundamental Muslims, I can't think of any other religious group that is fundamental that is dangerous.
