Are the Mariners trying to sabotage themselves? They have the best starting ERA in baseball. Why in the flying fuck would they call up a guy who everyone knows is terrible, when their starting pitching has been stellar?

I know, NOGAF, but it's mind-boggling how stupid that was.
 
They should have just started Wilhelmsen like they did a while back and given the bullpen some work. They have an off day tomorrow, so it wouldn't have caused problems. Fuck Erasmo Ramirez with a rusty conical cheese grater.
 
Are you really asking why Jack Z is trying to prove he knows more than everyone by throwing out a guy who has been terrible all year? I think we've all seen enough of Jack to assume he will take every opportunity to prove everyone how dumb...errr, smart he is.

Not a Jack fan, but that's Lloyd showing his genius, not Jack.

Debatable. It was probably more of a mutual decision. Jack is the one who has final say on the roster. Lloyd can't call up Ramirez and start him by himself.

Jack certainly signed off on it, but the M's never employed this "call up a Triple A arm to pitch before an off day" system before Lloyd came around. This isn't Jack's idea.
