The Japanese also have their train reads down. Would love to jump on a bullet train and be in Seattle in two hours or so. Actually, that’s a lie. Don’t give a fuck about visiting Seattle.
Not sure it would pencil out as a private venture but the US is 50 years behind the times in train travel

The US has property rights and geography both going against trains.
Most train systems are Grey rhinos in foreign economies. Giant sinkholes of public funds without the ridership to justify the expenditure. That's the last thing the US needs more of right now.
ATBS, I've ridden the Shinkansen and it was cool as hell seeing MT. Fuji coming into Tokyo.
Plus the dems promoting public transportation have no interest in maintaining said public transportation or policing it to make it safe.
People don't want to ride fucking trains. Unlike most of the world, we have plenty of space and live in houses with yards. Cars are king and always will be. Personal transportation »»»»» riding buses and trains filled with junkies and criminals.

The cost to cover those distances is insane. Do you realize how close cities in Europe are versus most of the US?
It's practical in the east for HSR but the airplanes are more practical overall in the US

Some of the Texas cities probably being the best due to cheap land in between them.
It’s just that the super liberal ones where they want to shoehorn it in happen to be super populated and or difficult terrain between them which makes it super expensive.
AZ is a decent one (Tucson, Phoenix, Flagstaff etc)
