I don’t think King 5 is going to be the arbiter of truth on this. There is a reason they got all the documents from the PD a year and a half ago and other media outlets were unable to get anything until a lawsuit against the PD had formed and the Palo Alto newspaper reported about the abnormal behavior between King 5, the school, the kids’ lawyers and the PD.

For King 5 to come out with this all today, with a segment based predominately on direct interviews with the PD who investigated this seems super fishy.

The lawsuit with Seattle Times vs the county PD is going to be the main driver of how big this case gets and how much truth about what happened with the investigation ultimately gets shared.

Right or wrong, CFB should prepare his anus and his wallet. Defending a defamation suit is no joke. Naming names -- minors' names -- under investigation, but not charged, is playing with fire. Plaintiff's attorneys have ways of discovering alt identities.

Buckle up. Either way, it will be interesting.

it probably can ... nothing is ever "lost" in today's electronic world ... it's more like "what pressure do you need in order to make it happen" to get that video recovered.

What's the political or legal will?

Why did King5 make an editor's note clarifying that one random kid wasnt involved. That seems...odd

Something really weird about exonerating one and only one individual.

And the wording is funny too. The police reports explicitly state Scott wasn’t involved? That seems extremely unlikely.

It doesn't seem odd to me. King 5 had access to all the police reports, and given that it's been widely assumed that Gee was one of the "three football players who received scholarships from prestigious universities", the disclaimer seems pretty necessary. As big of a boob Gee Sr. is, he should absolutely try to clear his son's name.

Now the question is who is that third player? Hopefully not our guy.

Gee Sr is a douchebag, but the lust for blood, especially when they are saying Gee Jr wasn’t involved is pretty pathetic.
 
Unfortunately you can't really trust anything that's out there right now. I wouldn't be surprised if King5 pulls their part 2 of the story out of fear.

The parents/families are in full "Deny everything and threaten to sue" mode. Their asses are now against the wall now that this is out there. If I'm their lawyer, it's hail mary time. I'm telling them to get on social media, deny everything, and claim victimhood while we threaten to sue everyone who talks about this. Maybe we can scare people and muddy the waters enough that the lid gets clamped back on the bottle. Hector's camp has already changed their "media approach" like 3 times. The latest I'm seeing is that he had no involvement and didnt actual get kicked out of Stanford but instead decided he wanted to stay home and play for UW, which doesnt add up to anything else that's out there.

-All four participants in the sex act remained on the team in 2018
-One was 18 at the time of the act
-Three still attend EC
-All three who still attend the school received scholarships to play football at "prestigious" universities

Other than Hector, who we know was a "witness", only three members of EC graduating class of 2020 are going to play D1 football at "prestigious" universities unless PSU is considered prestigious. I don't think I need to lay out the logic puzzle steps here any further (unless one of the kids was 2021 please god no.)

How, then, does one explain the offers CP did and didn't make for the class of 2020. He was clearly in the know.

UW's recruiting tells us who they believed to be involved not who was actually involved.
