Yeah that feels like the opposite of what we should have been doing. The funny thing is that the games we got crushed in, it feels like their quarterbacks were hitting 3rd/4th down short slants with such regularity that whatever passing rank we ended with feels dishonest. Rutgers did it to us as well. Cuog had a different route but the same idea. Too much sitting back and giving up an easy first down.I thought our scheme against power running teams wasn't very good. Part of that was probably due a lack of depth and talent on the DL but it would have been nice to see 3 DTs at times. Sometimes I got the feeling that Stevie B. was like Jimmy Fake in that he was more concerned about having a top ranked passing D than stopping the run first.
