I don’t blame them. And let’s be honest, 80% of the blue chips that get recruited, especially in the NIL era, aren’t coming to play school. Why do you think Stanford is continuing to fade? If it was largely about education, Stanford would be riding high.

Your Stanford take is cringe though. Complete outlier in all of college football. Private school with less than 10k undergrads. They never should have been good in the first place.

Cal can and should be a lot better though.

It’s not high school, where enrollment has a huge impact on player quality. Private schools do struggle more athletically in the major sports because of the academic barrier. But that’s here nor there. My argument is that when blue chips are getting offers of close to $1 million or more in NIL money, the education advantage is diminished significantly.
