Last two seasons of GoT were season two Westworld levels of bad. The Mrs. was obsessed, so I kept watching, and I found I actually enjoyed continuing to watch for the laughs at how bad it was, kind of like watching a B-movie horror flick.
Watched one episode of Downton. Check that, tried watching one episode, but found it to be an excellent sleep aid. Another Period is Downton Abbey if Downton Abbey was actually fun to watch.

Downton is dope, but Thrones was appointment television for the majority of its run for a reason.
I've never seen GoT. I'm sure its tits. Everyone says so.

I watched all of season one and some of season two. Had a gf that was obsessed with it. The theme music gets you pumped every episode but it wasn’t worth the hype to me. I’m not big on period pieces from that long ago or fantasy tho.
I speed watched season 7 and dont remember much of anything. Never watched an episode of season 8. It was pretty good before though.
GOT can never make my best of list because of all the promise that never delivered. I predicted it in the first season when one could see how long of a show it would take to tie together all of those story arcs. How it went, with the rush to the hastily written finish, was exactly what I ezpected.

If GOT had ended with season 6 I might have voted for it, but fuck the show runners and GRRM for botching everything.
