DOOMED.

Chip wasn't infallible. But his mad-genius level coaching enabled Oregon's 2009- 14 run w/o blue blood type MONEY, TRADITION and LOCATION.
I don't think a guy of Dan's abilities could have elevated Oregon in the same way post Mike B.
While at the same time what Chip did was kind of a one time moment in history and the game evolved. Eventually the @oregonblitzkrieg ran out of gas at the gates of Moscow.
Phil was already providing plenty of financial support by the time Chip arrived. Dan just did something Chip was never able to do, and he is recruiting at a level that Chip never did. Chip never built the kind of talent on the O and D-lines that Dan has built.
"Financial support" pre-N.I.L. pay for play era college sports is chicken shit compared to its importance now.
Well who the fuck is stopping mighty Washington for playing by the same rules Oregon is playing by now? Stop whining, it's unbecoming.

The ass raping you received at the hands of Michigan was a little bit worse than just coming up "short."
Way too liberal interpretation of "ass raping". It was 20-13 at the start of the 4th.
If you want to say "4th Quarter" ass raping I'll allow it.
That's haie's line. And if you're repeating haie's excuses you're losing. You were ass raped. You rushed for less than 50 yards while they ran it down your throats for 303. You were beat as badly in that game as we were by Ohio State in 2014. They beat the shit out of both your offensive and defensive lines.
Haie's his own man. I was sitting in Bew Pub in Salem, Or last Saturday night watching the B1G Championship with my Dong James era hat worn proudly.
Penix had a way of overcoming situations like that, however, and hope remained for a long while in that game. A 1 score game is still a one score game even when you're getting raped on the lines.

I have faith UW will adapt do what needs to be done to remain competitive with Oregon.

You guys lost just as badly if not worse than we lost to Ohio State. In fact the difference in yardage was closer in our game than it was in yours. We were ass raped and so were you.

I have faith that the ass kicking you received two Saturday's ago will be fairly common for the next few years. Oregon has a 38 year old Nick Saban leading their team. You better pray that he decides to leave for the NFL.

I felt like Oregon was in that game until the end of the 3rd if I recall correctly. It was 9:44 in the 4th when Ohio State put it away.

Let's let things play out out before you crown Lanning.

Because we couldn't stop the run and they ran it down our throats. Sensing a theme here?

Sure but getting ass raped on the run can be overcome. If a game is tight score wise, then it's still a tight game.
I can recall Oregon "ass fucking" Washington on the ground in 2022 at Autzen.

It feels like you’re arguing with a wall regarding CK. Everyone here hearts him.

I don’t care if Oregon “buys” a natty. You’ve all been saying that for about 20 years anyway including when he was here. Am I supposed to not want them to win and pray another good and right SEC team wins it?
UW has more money and circumstance than Oregon State. Sounds like that’s not fair and you bought your sugar bowl last year.
College football is capitalism. There’s no right way to win it. It’s not fair USC is in the only major city out west with recruits. It’s not fair Phil Knight invented Nike at Oregon. Nothing has ever been sacred, righteous or fair in college football. That’s all religious type malarkey. It’s not magic. It’s not bestowed by god. It’s circumstance and luck and all of that changes over time.
If Oregon wins I’m getting the T-shirt, the SI cover and a hat. Then everyone just does it all over again the next year.
I want the AT&T football phone.
nice pull. Legit laughed

And if we're honest UW bought 1991
The only crime is not doing it more
Washington fans weren't talking like this last year. But I do believe the comfort zone for most Husky fans is to whine about Oregon or whoever is winning
Dawgman.com was filled with posters who piously stated their desire to lose rather than be like Oregon
They often get their wish
I was. Florida State got screwed.

SEC! SEC! Have been buying titles the right way for years.
They ruined the sport too.
Sport has never been more popular. Your team just fucking sucks Bill.
The sport sucks. They must be using NFL ratings math. Most of my friends watch way less football than they did 10 years ago.
Well there's a data and fact based opinion. Bill and his pals watch less football, therefore the sport is less popular.

Dipshit is too kind a description for what you are Bill.

It's not surprising.
The 12 team play off is ideal content for the hoi polloi, casual fans.
And even the luddite, purist fans like me are still watching the games.
If I was a Duck alum, I'd still hate Dillon Gabriel's journey through college football, and then love him for winning the Natty.

"We're doing it the right way" has always been a disease around here. Like, when UW was really fucking good when I was an undergrad there, it was hide your daughters time all the time and that's no lie. Campus was different in those days. No internet though. Different tims.
There is, I believe, still a critical mass of the fanbase that wants UW to play ball, literally and figuratively. I think the "we're a classy program," "we're above all that," crowd are mostly on the internet and don't really know what they're talking about. And even they would don't really care for real - it's just a turd to throw.
Don't forget, this whining goes back a long ways. Does anyone recall Arrogant Bill Walsh throwing UW under the bus during his second tour of duty at Stanford? He said SC was even worse and pointed back to his first run with Furd, during which, he alleges, SC's entire roster was on the payroll. Or some shit like that.
This sport hasn't been clean since Princeton and Yale were dominant forces.

If Oregon wins it all we're going to find out how big money feels about the program when they storm the castle at Montlake
