That penalty on Daniels was crap. the stanford guy was about to attempt a tackle and Daniels made a clean block. The way the rules are interpreted in the pac12 there are two ways Daniels could have avoided a penalty making that block: 1) play in a different conference, 2). Set a pick like in the game of basketball, basically let the guy run into you without forcing the hurt on somebody.
 
All levels of football are scared of more lawsuits from former players. We are seeing the results. The rules change every 3 months and the referees are told to error on the side of caution... I understand and agree with trying to penalize and discourage the helmet to helmet hits, targeting, obvious late hits and stuff like that, but it gets ridiculous. It's a violent game. if you don't like it, LEAVE!

It's actually Riddell's fault.
 
When did a legal block that is relevant to the play, in front, above the waist, not helmet to helmet become unecessary roughness? Jesus that call was maybe the worst of the year.

It was a blindside legal block hard enough to hurt the blockee while not injuring or maiming his body parts much less concussing his brain, but which under the new endangerment rule as applied to tackle football can now be called a personal foul for excessive roughness depending upon the blindside's blasting value. A blindside like the one we saw delivered by the penalized Husky to the unsuspecting Stanfordite is the equivalent of hitting a baseball with the sweet spot of the bat and is the stuff that wet dreams are made of for anybody that's played football and had the fun of flying around blasting the other guys on kick or punt returns.

BTW, endangerment is a term probably only applied to soccer before the current efforts to pussify football. We're going to have to live with this if mommies are expected to let their babies play The Game in the future.
