I haven’t checked it, but my thoughts are that the posters make the board. A bunch of doogs getting jacked[/b] over every recruit that shows any interest isn’t interesting.

Yeah it's hilarious how those guys get so excited about Twitter follows, Junior Day invites, and offers. I guess since Lake didn't recruit at all it's refreshing to see the new coaches perform the basic functions of their job but I personally don't get excited until we start landing commits.

The discord is fucking stupid. If you're sane and don't give a shit about having info 1 hour before it breaks to the rest of the world, then it offers little value.

Also, purpledawgfan is a prolific poster there. That should tell you all you need to know about the quality of content.

Izzo, purpledawgfan, Chest, Coker (who used to be cool, but has turned into a constant whiner) are all insufferable

Then you have "the insiders"
-AcropJr comes on there every so often to get everyone's hopes up with "big news coming emojis, only to come back a day later with "sorry guys, I got some bad info"
-Sonics doesn't really come on there much anymore but is the counterweight to Acrop telling everyone how shitty things are
-the high school coach guy who seems to be on there all day long despite the fact that he's supposedly a teacher and you'd assume that, for a few minutes during the day, is in charge of students

Acrop is teasing multiple commits over the next few days. I fully expect him to come back next week and tell everyone he got bad info again.
 
The people who run the Discord were mostly nobodies 2 months ago, and now they take themselves so seriously because they haven't been in charge of something like this ever in their lives. Naturally that power gets to their heads, which is why they're banning people for dumb shit all the time.

I muted the entire server other than the rumors/news feed because the chats got pretty insufferable. At least they finally limited the rumors/news feed to actually decent news instead of spamming it with junior day invite tweets.

I jump on a couple times a week. It’s like the democratic national socialist party get together there. Should be called no dissent. I was bitching about Jen along with several others while a few and some mods did their best to change the subject and try to dissuade the negative feedback. Makes me appreciate this place so much more.

Fun if you’re just looking to upset the he/she/it crowd though. Not much football info there. Someone here said it best when they called it a clubhouse for nerds.

Thing you have to remember is what are people’s angles

There’s a bunch of people there that want to be insiders and they’ve already floated that they aspire to have a subscription model in the future to pay for their insider info, Spaces chats, etc

More power to anybody that wants to go down that angle but most underestimate the difference between free beer and having to buy your own

Seems like everyone in the Discord has strong opinions on what is being said but when asked to elaborate, they're not 100% sure they're ready to yet.

There's lots of consternation about what info they're ready to put out publicly and which dots they can connect.

It's the jv version of Dawgman

They can't wait to see every player on the roster in their new role/scheme/fit "light it up" "let's go" "yes" "you know it" etc and using the 7 degrees of Brad Pitt Logic we are in on every recruit.

WIll say they are in agreement on UW "marketing dept" because the game day atmosphere is so shitty no one comes to the games, like there is some magical fix when you can't even give your tickets away for free or essentially so thru 2ndary market and yet there's still 20k empty seats unless Ducks, Cougs, Trojan fans come and buy10k-20k of them and show up.
 
The moderation on the discord is reaching doogman levels. Some poster just got booted with no warning for having the nerve to question if @AcropolisJr was a reliable source after his rumor that 2 HS woofs were coming hasn't materialized.

It had promise, but quickly sucked and I’ve basically stopped bothering to check it. If you like thousands of posts by some loser named coach v about the Seahawks or whatever, by all means.

And, as others have noted, watch out if you dare question Jen Cohen or our coach who is 2 months in and has yet to land a single HS recruit.

It’s doogman 2.0, just moderated by doogs who know what Twitter is.
