I just got an email from PG&E, projected rate increase for both gas and electricity here in California, where we already pay some of the highest rates in the country are going to be on average about $50 more a month.

The state mandate for renewables to make up an even larger share of the energy being generated is part of what’s driving it, that and the costs associated with being responsible for burning down large swathes of the state.

We just need more solar panels and windmills. And the infrastructure to get it to your home. You’ll have to suck it up until then.
