Depth Chart Analysis, Because I Am Bored

Well, my focus is waning on stuff like actual work right now, so I thought I would contribute some random thoughts to the bored about the depth chart and what not. Unlike so many other successful people in life, I have no alcohol in my desk drawer to help pass the time. Anyways....

The depth chart released by UW on Sunday had me doogin' a bit, not about this year, but more so the future.

Petersen is usually very tight lipped about handing out praise to his players, but this fall he has actually cracked a bit on that, specifically in regards to the young offensive lineman and his true freshmen class in particular. The release of the depth chart confirmed why he has been mentioning them a lot. (On a side note, I think the 2015 class may have upwards of 7 NFL draft type players.... YEAH I SAID IT)

UW listed 31 individual players on the offensive depth chart, here is how it breaks down:

- 6 are True Frosh
- 5 are RS Frosh
- 2 are True Sophmores
- 6 are RS Sophmores
- 8 are Juniors
- 4 are Seniors

Of the 31 players, 15 are Petersen recruits or walk-ons.... In just two classes 48% of the offensive two deeps are his guys.

UW listed 33 individual players on the defensive depth chart, here is how it breaks down:

- 5 are True Frosh
- 7 are RS Frosh
- 5 are True Sophmores
- 5 are RS Sophmores
- 5 are Juniors
- 6 are Seniors

Of the 33 players, 17 are Petersen recruits or walk-ons.... In just two classes 52% of the defensive two deeps are his guys.

Overall, 50% of the two deeps are Petersen players.

I noted last week after the scrimmage that there is a difference between the Sark players (most of them, not all) and the Petersen players. It's a difference in the way they carry themselves, their size, and how prepared they are coming into the program from a weight room perspective. That observation seems to be playing out in the depth chart as well. I have a feeling his players are beating the holy hell out of a majority of Sark's players on the field and in the film room.

I think even Petersen has been surprised by his 2015 class. I remember before camp he said there could be a handful of guys from that class that played. He has listed 11 (!!!!) on the first depth chart of the year.

Well, that's all.... Back to work, wish I had alcohol in my desk drawer like all the really successful, non-alcoholics have.

I awesomed this poast based only on the first paragraph. I still have to go back and read it.

Me too. Working until 9pm. At which time I will start drinking a little bit hopefully.

No desk booze for me, sadly. Not CEO enough, I guess.

Trevor Walker, Cory Fuvai, and Jarret Finau are absent from the depth chart. Those guys need to GTFO

Edit: I read elsewhere that Fuvai has actually been suddenly seniored and will be gone after this year

Fuavi is my least favorite recruit in the last 5 years. What really shits me is that he was an 11th hour commit and a suprise offer and the fat ass still wanted to trip to corvallis. Turpin is bad but atleast he is black and from compton.

But I was hearing it would be a small class. 12-14 max.

DAMNIT! At least give me that that was before Miles retired, Hale was kicked off, and any 2012 recruits being encouraged to play their 5th year elsewhere (and generally GTFO).
