Denzel Boston

I think everyone has come around on Giles. He dropped some passes and looked slow even though he came from Michigan as a speedster in 2021 but he's really put it together. It's a good point that the route really seems like it would have been better for Giles anyway as he seems way more shifty in space and Boston is better as a jump ball guy with his length.

Saw some nice Durfee plays in run D but never noticed him in pass rush in a game where it was really need. I haven't rewatched though.
Looked like they were told to contain more than pursue
Mateer ripped off big scrambles in the first half when there was frequent blitzing. He didn't really have any in the second half.
Rushing 4 in the 2nd half, he picked apart our secondary
They should've blitzed more in the 2nd half

Did he really though? He threw for 63 yards after halftime.

He's obviously a shitty passer and when passing WSU was just trying to get to the first down marker. 50% completion doing that is really bad.
We were just kind of content to let them do that until they got to or cross the 50 which sucks and reminds me of our last 2 defenses. Make them go 3 and out so we? can wear down their defense.

It’s bizarre. What receiver doesn’t relish the chance to win a game by diving for the pylon? But it’s like it didn’t even occur to Boston to try to score.
When they’re coached not to dive for it, Fisch said it on the Coach’s Show last night. Granted, it’s a choice to listen to soft coaching like that or to say “fuck off” like Craig Chambers said to Ty.

Maybe but WSU only scored 7 points in the 2nd half.
It was the offense that laid an egg and only scored 6 points.
