Deboner to Nebraska

DeBoer doesn’t want the job. No decent coach wants the job. They have great fan support but no major donor to push NIL. They also have a shitty location to recruit to. At least in Eugene, you can sell Portland being 90 minutes away. Seattle has all the advantages and more than what Nebraska has.

I'm not saying I buy into the OP. But in these types of conversations one thing that is often overlooked is... Maybe DeBoer or (fill in the blank) doesn't want to live in Seattle? Maybe they want to live closer to where they came from culturally.

I'm not saying anything beyond that general point. Don't twist. Lots of twisters out here.

I guess, but going to Nebraska guarantees you what 3 years of job security. Their program sucks

Boy Portland being 90 minutes away sure is exciting.

It’s not, but compared to Lincoln Nebraska?

Portland at 641k population isn’t much less than 733k Seattle. Portland is a shit hole, but don’t act like it’s a small city. There is shit to do there.

The Seattle metro-area is about 1.5 million more people.

His daughter just committed to UW for softball, that's another consideration here. Nebraska softball is mid.

Sounds like he’s built a wall around Seattle.

Yeah, you're going to have your kid commit to the school you work for, then you're going to leave for fucking Nebraska and have her decommit and go there :D

I didn't realize you were such a fucking idiot until recently. That's a mistake on my part.

He can’t afford Vancouver. He lives in Battle Ground and is a member of a country club that’s no longer in existence. Retired. LOL.....

Sure, but it’s still 2.5 million people. That isn’t a tiny metro. It’s ranked 26th in the country. It’s definitely not Seattle, but the argument isn’t primarily Seattle. My point was comparing Portland’s 2.5 million metro to any metro reasonably close to Lincoln Nebraska. Kansas City is about 2.5 hours away, and it’s slightly smaller than Portland metro. In Lincoln, you have to travel to Minneapolis (339 miles) to find the closest larger metro area. Again, their location is awful. Oregon’s isn’t good, but Lincoln’s is worse, way worse.
