Who gives a shit.

We have proven that with the right system we can make the playoffs with borderline top 25 talent while fielding the best defense in the country.

We have also proven hitting the "blue chip" 40% threshold means fucking nothing if the culture is rotten.

All else being equal you take the better recruiting, but Fresno State and their fighting 2 stars shouldve beat Oregon in Eugene and beat Chip in LA

I don't buy this. He's going to know how important recruiting is. He's a successful, hard working coach who has done what he needed to do to kick ass at every job he has had. It's stupid, in my opinion, to assume he's going to struggle in recruiting. Name means jack shit. It's all about who identifies the right guys, works the hardest, and sells the best.

Coach Pete was 57-6 at Boise State, won a Fiesta Bowl, won coach of the year, and was known nationally. Kalen went 9-3 one year at Fresno State and hasn't been mentioned in any other coaching positions. Please don't compare the two.

He has absolutely no idea what it takes to be good at recruiting. Even Pete struggled his first couple of years at recruiting, and he was known nationally. Until you have gone through recruiting against USC, Oregon, Notre Dame, you don't know the challenges it presents and what it takes to win those battles.

And, no, outside the diehards that breathe football, nobody out here knows who Matt Campbell is. And the Lions did not offer him a job.
