Every coach at Oregon since CFB was invented has had a modicum of success because of the Nike machine (excepting Willie). I find it hard to believe that they magically hire the right guy every time.

Slingblade only did because he inherited Mariota. He survived an extra year because of Vernon Adams and then sucked ass when he had throw Herbert in before he was ready.
Either way. I think he's weird and kind of nuts, but he recruits well and I do think he will settle for nothing less than greatness

I’ve never understood hating some other teams coach.
I guess they’re a totem for the program? I’ve never hated a husky or Bavs coach. Not even Rick who seems to be the last UW coach Oregon fans ever mentioned in that sense.
I get making fun of them. But hating them is weird.

my point is nobody really hates anybody in the way you do in real life.
it’s just the normal “I hate you” nit picking when things are going well for your rival and not for you.
watch Oregon drop a game or two and nobody will be here freaking out.

Disagree. Oregon fans hated Rick. Since then it’s been UW on the hate train with every brave man who’s stepped foot in that Oregon locker room to lead the powerful Ducks onto the field.

Funny thing is Ricky (iltcht) is super chill in his older age. Incredibly nice guy. Only good things to say about the ducks the couple of times I’ve gotten to talk football with him.

I regularly listen to Full Ride on Sirius just for his commentary. He's my favorite CFB sports analyst and it's not close. I hated him as UW coach but he's smart as hell and consistently a step ahead of other talking heads in the media.
So then you guys shouldn't be bothered by him, yet the tears flowed in Portland for years.
