I think Oregon has played in the Sun Bowl a few times.
1999 we beat Minnesota

2003 we lost to Minnesota
2007 we beat USF
None of the games all that memorable. It would appear that UW has a more storied history playing in this game.

The 2007 one was when I knew chip was really legit. Took an offense that couldn’t get a first down against ucla the week after Dixon went down and hung 50 on a decent usf team with Justin fuckin roper 5 weeks later
 
I attended the 99 and 2003 game. Juarez was fun in 1999. Hotel told me I was insane to go down there in 2003.

Stewart with a bad toe and still rushed for 250. Chip opened up a number of his bag of tricks for that game. Took over as head coach the next year.

2008 was still Bellotti
Chip’s first year as HC was 09 which featured the meltdown at Boise State and a Rose Bowl berth. Lost at Stanford as well.

Chip was 46-7 with 3 conference titles, 2-2 in Bowl Games with 3 NYD Bowls and a natty appearance.
Dan is 35-5 with 1 conference title and 2 NYD appearances, 2-0 in Bowls. We’ll see if he gets to the natty this year.

You are correct sir. McStolie's first year but Mike was still coach. The Civil War game that year was one of my all time favorites.

I was at that game as well with my wife and 3 kids. My wife left at halftime to go back to the tailgate and left me with my oldest. Painful game. They sucked, and our defense played well but we could do nothing on offense.

me too. I sat next to Mac and Dee from iasip and had no idea who they were cuz that show had just started airing. Was confused why people kept coming up asking for pics of them.

Every possession at ucla was 2 wildcat runs followed by a 3rd and 8 deep shot down the sideline with 0 chance of a completion
