Comedy / Satire Bracket Round 1: #4 Arrested Development vs #5 All in The Family

Difficult call here. All in The Family is vastly more important to the history of TV and 20th century pop culture. But as @RaceBannon says there's very little shared culture anymore so fuck it, I'm voting for the show that has made me pee my pants about as much as any.

Full disclosure tim: I’ve only seen a few episodes of both shows.
For ages my friends and colleagues would say to me, “DDJ, I can’t believe you haven’t seen Arrested Development! It’s hilarious, and totally your sense of humor!”
I watched some of it, and while I chuckled, it wasn’t the LOL funny. Maybe my expectations were raised to Cal-levels of high.
All In The Family was hyped by my, heh, family. Great show, I can see why it’s a classic, which is why it gets my vote...but again, no big belly laughs in the press room from me.

I appreciate the historical importance of All in the Family as well, but Arrested Development is one of my all-time favorites. The long-running jokes and callbacks to previous jokes is outstanding.

This. AD made a living off of setting up jokes for three episodes before the punchline. Best comedy shit ever.

Scandalous. Funny as shit.
It waned in the later years and that sequel Archie was in later. But not much better than prime Meathead and Archie going at it.
Arrested Development too awkward.

GOB is one of the funniest characters ever. Plus I have close family frens who live a block from the REAL banana stand. @UW_Doog_Bot and I had the first ever HH gay bar meet up just across the Balboa ferry. Lots of ferries and gay bars in the OC.
I love both but going old school here because you can’t have the style of humor that Archie Bunker has anymore. I refuse to give in to the SJWs of the world.
For the first 10 years or so of my life I thought my mother's father's name was Archie. This is what my dad called him. His real name was Boyd.
