Good feet and all-around athleticism are far more important than straight line speed for a QB in our offense.

Petersen is never going to have a QB be a primary ball carrier, but this guy has more than enough running ability to be a threat and to occasionally break off an explosive run.

He is also a long strider and super melanin-challenged, both of which can contribute to "deceptive speed".

Yankoff is much better. There is no weakness to his game and he runs the read option shit we want to do to perfection.
 
The Wild West Board (bigger group of degenerates than this place) has a post indicating that Justin Hopkins reported that Chip is going to flip Yankoff to UCLA.

I mean, it should've been immediately obvious to everyone that they would try to sell him on being the next Mariota.

Maybe Hopkins is just generating a little FREE PUB for Chip in hopes of getting on Chip's good side from the jump.
