how is anyone surprised by this? The national narrative and ESPN has been saying Pac12 teams don't belong so obviously it's a long shot to have a local team in the finals...Bama gets in the playoffs with 12 losses because they're Bama so you're going to always have 2-3 teams from the Southeast.

now factor in the cost of flying to Santa Clara...then most people have to actually work on Tuesday so it makes no sense logistically for about 99% of interested fans.

and then there's the weather...5pm in the Bay Area in January is fucking cold man.

Having the game in SF[/s] Santa Clara is FS. That is not a hotbed of casual fans who will eat up the allotments not given directly to the schools.

I also think it's a problem to expect a fanbase to be able to travel twice in a ~10 day span, particularly when you aren't certain if your team will be playing for the natty.

Either all that or the simple fact it's the same two teams playing 3 out of the last 4 years, and Alabama is far superior than anybody else. Why fork over money for travel, tickets, and expenditures for another rerun in which Alabama wins, this time by 20. Not bitter, but facts are facts. Having one team dominate a sport like Alabama has isn't good for a sport.

Have fun getting there in Silicon Valley traffic on basically the first day of back-to-work after Xmas. It will be gridlock and cold and fucking hilarious watching these 2 teams from the same climate dealing with the cold.

It's funny because the entire Pac12 can't get anything right to the point that even hosting the fucking finals is a disaster. Nobody wants to come to the Pac12. LOL at Larry Scott's empire.

Santa Cruz to Levi's is against traffic, and I have all afternoon to do it. Forecast is for 56 degrees at kickoff. Brrrr! Madness!

IFly indoor skydiving is a few miles up the freeway, maybe I'll do that instead because of the murderous cold outside?
 
Add in that the stadium is shit and it’s in an industrial tech center with nothing around it, and there you go.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) for Bama and Clemson fans, they won’t find this out until they are already there, twiddling their thumbs.
 
Today it is fucking miserable. Raining hard, cold, and windy as a mother fucker. Perfect way for Pac12 to sell itself as the location for future top recruits from Florida and Texas. Lol
