Helfrich couldn't handle them. I know Lyerla always had issues, but he was a good player under Chip. Thomas was incredible under Chip.

Chip would have kicked Coke's ass off the team for his behavior. I doubt he would tolerate a guy bringing his personal issues to field and damaging team output and morale like Coke did. Helfrich was right to throw him under the bus. Thomas was great his first two years. Helfrich stupidly misused him. I didn't get using him as a running back. He was just too small and it looked ridiculous when they tried to run him straight through the jaws of opposing defenses. His attitude was shit and he's responsible for the idiotic Rose Bowl comments. I liked him but I'm glad he's gone. It's better for the team. Oregon doesn't need a bunch of prima donnas.
