Enoch Bagshaw (c. 1884 – October 3, 1930) was an American football player and coach. From 1921 to 1929, he served as the head football coach at the University of Washington, compiling a 63–22–6 record. His 1923 and 1926 squads went 10–1–1, equaling the best marks of his career. Despite his success, Bagshaw was fired in 1929 after his team went 2–6–1. He was a five-year starter on the football team at Washington.

He was 60 seconds from a national championship. And if not for the greatest Husky team ever he has Cal in the Rose Bowl in 1991. No easy feat there. by far the toughest game of the year for the legendary 91 squad.

In defense, Harbaugh did the same thing against USC in that epic underdog win in the coliseum. The only difference: It worked on fourth down, so Harbaugh gets praised.

That's a fair poont. I do think there is some difference though in the situations though. A massive underdog should be more unconventional and do things you shouldn't normally do. Pitt was just playing some other tit dirt Big East team.

Snyder left Cal in great shape for Gilby who ran it into the ground. The nock on him would be that he didn't sustain initial success at ASU. He basically got two different programs to a BCS bowl in 5 years. Good but not great.
