If Sparty really is the #8 team in the country (and they did lose a lot), then I'd take the 15+ points that they are getting at Oregon.
If Notre Dame is #17 in the country, you should be taking the over on their season win total of 7.5 if you think that they'll end up there.
Sparty is getting curb stomped by Oregon no matter what. I really think that game is gonna be ugly for MSU. They got a good matchup against Furd in the RB, but Oregon is an entirely different schematic challenge that I dont think MSU is up to. Especially @ Autzen
Good to see Ohio State doesn't count
Did I say OSU doesnt count? They are nowhere near the caliber of a spread team that Oregon is, so what the hell is your point?
It's my belief that OSU and MSU couldnt stop the good spread teams in the Pac nowadays, especially on the road. The Big 10 is a conference full of plodders
Are you sure about that? Looking at 2013 stats ...
Rushing Offense:
Ohio St: 5th in nation, 309 yards per game
Oregon: 9th in nation, 274 yards per game
Scoring Offense:
Ohio St: 3rd in nation, 45.5 points per game
Oregon: 4th in nation, 45.5 points per game
Passing Offense:
Ohio St: 88th in nation, 203 yards per game
Oregon: 21st in nation, 292 yards per game
So, if you want to say that Oregon is a that much better of a spread team, then what you are really saying is that Mariotta is a better passer than Braxton Miller because when it comes to points scored and the ability to run the football, Ohio State has nothing to apologize for.
Couple of other things that you haven't considered:
1) In saying that Ohio State isn't in the same class as good spread teams from the PAC, you're essentially saying that a national championship coach in Urban Meyer with a track record of success doesn't know how to build a team to that level ... sure you want to make that argument?
2) Last I checked, Ohio State did play Oregon in the Rose Bowl a few years ago. I seem to recall that they had no problem "containing" a good spread offense in Oregon.
3) Pretty sure Mark Helfrich is no Chip Kelly.
4) Pretty sure that if Michigan State is good enough to play on the same field as Ohio State and beat them, that they are more than worthy challengers to Oregon.
Keep down voting shit that you can't comprehend ...
